Judge Upholds N.Y. Muslim Terror Charges

Judge Upholds N.Y. Muslim Terror Charges

Apparently U.S. District Judge Thomas McAvoy was unconvinced about the good intentions of two members of the Religion of Peace. He refused to dismiss charges against Yassin Aref, imam at the Masjid as-Salam mosque in Albany, and Mohammed Hossain, a co-founder of the mosque. They were arrested in August 2004 and accused of laundering money for an FBI informant posing as an arms dealer.Chron.com | Judge Upholds N.Y. Muslim Terror Charges

McAvoy also refused to grant separate trials for the men, who have pleaded not guilty, claiming they were `entrapped' since they were caught redhanded on video . The FBI informant apparently told them that the $50,000 they were laundering for him came from the sale of a missile used to assasinate a Pakistani diplomat.
