Zawahiri: Obama A House Negro

Another missive from Al-Qaida's No. 2 leader, Aheik Ayman al-Zawahri, giving us al-Qaeda's first reaction to Obama's victory. Since al-Zawahri refers to a November 5 U.S. airstrike attack in Afghanistan, the video was made after that date.

Not surprisingly, al-Zawahri is using this in two ways; first to gin up the mujahadeen characterize Obama's election as a sign of defeat for America because of Obama's endorsement of an Iraq pullout, and second to speak to the Muslim umma and tell them them Obama represents no positive change in American policy.

In the course of a fairly slick video, al-Qaeda uses old footage of Malcolm X using and explaining the epithet of 'house negro' to refer to Obama, Colin Powell and Condaleeza Rice and showing Obama with rabbis and wearing a Jewish yarmulke to accuse Obama of doing the bidding of white people and Jews.

What Zawahiri said was "abeed al-beit," which literally translates as "slaves of the house." In Arabic, the word for 'black' and the word for slave are the same, ('abeed') which may come as a surprise to some anti-Israel black proponents of the Arab cause. It shouldn't..the Arabs ran the slave trade in Africa in collusion with the tribal chiefs and historians estimate that for every slave driven to the coast and sold to the whites to make the middle passage, as many as seven went east to become slaves in the Arab world. In any event, the al-Qaida supplied English subtitles of Zawahiri's speech translate it as "house negroes."

There's a hidden insult to Obama here as well.By Obama's own admission, Malcolm X was a role model for Obama and the similarities between their speaking styles is striking.Zawahiri is using one of Obama's heroes to condemn him out of his own mouth!

Al-Zawahri said Obama’s election has not changed American policies he said are aimed at oppressing Muslims and others.

“America has put on a new face, but its heart full of hate, mind drowning in greed, and spirit which spreads evil, murder, repression and despotism continue to be the same as always.”

He said Obama’s plan to shift troops to Afghanistan is doomed to failure.

“Be aware that the dogs of Afghanistan have found the flesh of your soldiers to be delicious, so send thousands after thousands to them,” he said.
