Obama At Notre Dame

The idea of the most radically pro-abortion and pro-infanticide presidents in America's history being honored by a Catholic university strikes me as fairly kinky, even though I'm neither a Catholic or someone who believes abortion should be outlawed in all circumstances.

As you can see, there were a number of protestors who felt the same way, even though the University did its best screen them and keep them from attending.

In the president's speech he called for a fair-minded debate on abortion, but his words, as usual, contrast with his record and his positions.

So do Notre Dame's for that matter, apparently. And a quick look at the University's Trustees Board reveals a number of connections with Chicago politics and the Democratic party.

As a side note, Notre Dame's Alumni Association has confirmed $13.9 million in witheld donations. This was a pretty expensive fee for a commencement speaker.

myself being catholic:
i have always thought ND to be somewhat hypocritical.
just to say they do not practice what they preach, does not cover it.
the vast majority of catholic clergy are communist. the reason i don't simply say socialist is because they believe in the world wide conversion of an economic system. not just one country. those that are not communist, have communist leanings. they have to to survive in the church. if you read certain passages of the bible in the right manner, jesus was the first communist.
for all the platitudes you hear coming out of ND, that is all they are. sound bites. there is no difference in the teaching/indoctrination that comes out of ND than any other state sponsored school.
it doesn't surprise me in the least that these people would do something like this.
he is their kind, and they his.
ND may have lost 13.9mil USD in donations, but the contributors lost an equal amount in tax deductions. and while this may be chump change for all of husseins programs, he wins both ways.
as ff says, change, chicago style.
